Our  Story

Over the past 30 years, Goolabri has been built with hard work and a love for family and the Australian country lifestyle. Every part of the estate has a unique story to tell. At Goolabri we live our dreams and have set the stage for you to do the same. 

 

Goolabri is an independent, self-made family business and provides hospitality with authenticity. With 300 acres of parkland, gardens, and nature reserve, Goolabri celebrates the unique natural environment which sets it apart from other venues in the region. Our multiple indoor and outdoor venue options can accommodate intimate functions from 10 people to large events of thousands. 

We attract creative, independent people who want to host their events at Goolabri. We have seen weddings, birthday parties, corporate Christmas parties, life celebrations, conferences, outdoor training, orienteering, obstacle courses, multi-day music festivals, day parties, intimate gigs, camping retreats, workshops and more.

 

Just 15 minutes from Canberra's Inner North, we offer a stunning and secluded bushland escape right on the doorstep of of our nation's capital.

The
Wedgetail
Pavilion

 

The Wedgetail Pavilion is an expansive marquee venue that promises a one-of-a-kind experience. A grand masonry staircase is the entryway down into its spacious belly. Guests feel connected to nature in The Wedgetail Pavilion. The low architectural profile of the canopy shelters them from the elements. Take advantage of relaxing sunset bushland views over a body of water from a west facing timber deck. This versatile venue offers an indoor-outdoor feel. The space is either opened or sealed to suit the weather. Artificial grass stays looking fresh and clean throughout your event. This ensures the comfort of your guests in any footwear or whilst reclining on the lawn. The Wedgetail Pavilion comes equipped with a stage and a PA system. Event lighting illuminates the canopy interior. Optional facilities include a bar and commercial finishing kitchen. Select furnishings, decor and equipment to suit your event style.  Next to the venue is a large open air casual seating area which can be a smoking area. Located inside the marquee are large restrooms. Perfect for large weddings, corporate events, concerts, markets and festivals.​

The
Wren

 

The Wren is a charming and intimate event venue. It provides a rustic ambiance which facilitates intimate gatherings. The interior features quintessential vaulted ceilings with exposed timber trusses. An open fireplace is the interior focal point. Guests mingle and enjoy sunset views from the indoor bar and outdoor terrace. A valley view of manicured gardens blends into the surrounding bushland. The Wren comes equipped with an intimate stage and a PA system. Optional facilities include a bar and commercial finishing kitchen. Select furnishings, decor and equipment to suit your event style. and comfortable restrooms. Next to the venue is a small open air casual seating area which can be a smoking area. Located inside the building are comfortable restrooms. Most popular for intimate weddings, parties, conferences, and small live music events.

Garden
Room

 

The Garden Room is an intimate, airy and light filled venue. Ideal for conferences, ceremonies, workshops and simple functions. It provides a serene and focussed atmosphere that promotes connection and focus. The interior features quintessential vaulted ceilings with exposed timber trusses. Guests enter through the foyer where there is a temporary bar. A garden view is the focal point of the main room, framed by glazing which reaches the high ceilings. Guests break out onto the patio and private lawn. ​ The Garden Room comes equipped with a PA system. Select furnishings, decor and equipment to suit your event style. Located inside the venue are comfortable restrooms.

Goolabri

300 acres of parkland, manicured gardens and nature reserve. Our natural environment sets Goolabri apart from any other venue in the region. ​ The property is used for outdoor events including festivals, wedding ceremonies and camping. It is a popular location for photo shoots and film sets. ​ The property was once a golf course. Interspersed with manicured gardens and bodies of water are lawns and open spaces. Bushland surrounds the entire property. We are fortunate to be custodians of the Goolabri Nature Reserve.
